🚓 Speed Checks in Your Community 🚓

One of our ongoing local priorities is tackling speeding, especially in areas where residents have raised repeated concerns. Over the past few months, we’ve received a noticeable increase in community reports about vehicles travelling above the limit in residential zones.

In response, your PCSOs have been out carrying out targeted speed checks at the locations you told us about. These aren’t random—your feedback shapes where we go.

👀 And yes, before anyone says it…
• “Don’t you have better things to do?” — Keeping people safe is the “better thing”.
• “It’s just revenue raising!” — We don’t get commission (sadly! 😉).
• “Go catch real criminals!” — Speeding is one of the biggest causes of serious injuries on our roads. Preventing harm is real policing.

We’re here because slowing down by just a few miles per hour can stop a serious collision—and because you asked us to be.

And no, we’re not hiding behind bushes with a speed gun and a flask… well, not unless it’s raining 🌧️😉

We’ll continue to monitor hotspot areas and work with the community to reduce risk and keep everyone safe.
